Al-Rowwad Theatre Presents "Blame the Wolf" 7:30pm
Tickets are $10 For Reservations: bethlehemcambridge@gmail.com
Central Square Theater 450 Mass Ave. Cambridge, MA
The play "Blame the Wolf" first appears as a sequel to Little Red Riding Hood, who accuses the wolf of having eaten her grandmother. The judge then has the wolf arrested and invites all those who've previously had to struggle with the wolf to come testify. So the three little pigs are invited, and Hansel and Gretel, the goats…. The trial begins. As the trial unfolds, we find out that the goats are not sure about their accusations against the wolf for he actually saved Hansel and Gretel from the witch’s claws and the witch then sought revenge by disguising herself as a wolf and lying down in the grandmother’s bed. In spite of these facts, the sentence (of hanging the wolf) is maintained, until the grandmother comes onstage and confirms the wolf’s innocence. In the final scene, the protagonists present their apologies to the wolf, highlighting the importance of lifting their stereotypes and prejudices, and the necessity to give equal attention to the arguments of both parties. |
