Hitting All the Right Notes - a night of music and comedy

Join CAC for a night of comedy and music with comedians Dean Obeidallah and Eman. Amreeka composer Kareem Roustom will also contribute a night of comedic music.

About the Performers

dean
Dean Obeidallah has appeared on national and international televisions shows, including Comedy Central's "Axis of Evil Comedy" special and "The Watch List," and PBS's documentary "Stand Up: Muslim Comics Come of Age". He serves as the Co-Executive Producer of the annual New York Arab-American Comedy Festival and the Amman Stand Up Comedy Festival.

Eman started stand-up in 2006 in New York City. Since then she has appeared in the 5th and 6th annual New York Arab-American comedy festival, New Faces and Best of the Fest, and has opened for the Axis of Evil tour in Ottawa. In Montreal she is the founder and co-producer of the monthly show BOOM (Best of Open Mic). She is a regular at clubs in Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.



kareem 
Kareem Roustom is an award-winning composer who has composed music for film, television, the concert hall and album projects. Steeped in the musical traditions of the Arab Near East and trained in Western music, Roustom is a musically bi-lingual composer who has collaborated with a wide variety of artists ranging from the Philadelphia Orchestra to Shakira. An active composer of film music, he has scored a number of short and feature-length films, and his score for the award-winning documentary Encounter Point earned him the Best Musical Score Award at the 2006 Bend International Film Festival. Of his recent score for Amreeka, which premiered at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, the Hollywood Reporter wrote "Kareem Roustom's Middle Eastern-flavored score contributes greatly."
